Confident little explorers
Between one and two, children are on the move — walking, climbing, pointing, naming and testing every limit. Our toddler room gives them room to do all of it safely, with educators close by to encourage the next try.
We keep working in close partnership with families. Your child’s individual profile travels with them from the nursery, so the transition feels seamless.
The room is set up to invite new challenges: low climbing frames, push-and-pull toys, sensory tables, books and cosy corners.

A day with the toddlers
- ✓Arrivals & free play — Settling in with a familiar educator and an open invitation to explore.
- ✓Morning tea — Sitting together, practising self-feeding and simple table routines.
- ✓Active play — Climbing, dancing, ball games and garden time.
- ✓Small experiences — Painting, playdough, water play and story time in small groups.
- ✓Lunch & rest — A cooked lunch, then sleep or quiet rest according to each child.
- ✓Afternoon — More outdoor play, music and language games before pick-up.

Absolutely. Sleep and rest follow each child’s needs, not a fixed room schedule.
We staff to meet or better the Victorian ratio of one educator to five children for this age group.
Yes, we follow your lead and work as a team with you when your child shows signs of readiness.
With calm, consistent guidance, close supervision and open communication with families. It’s a normal developmental stage.
